Last night the Red Sox had a neat celebration for the entire team, following the the parade on Thursday. Lots of partying, some of those guys still haven't slept. KG was like a little boy on Christmas morning. They were ALL so happy. Paul Pierce got to throw the ceremonial first pitch! Oh and then the Red Sox wore their GREEN jerseys to further celebrate the big win!

My Close To My Heart Booth @ Women's Expo

Wow, what a weekend. The Women's Expo was a huge event and something that required lots of time and energy, but boy was it worth it. Alan and I spent loads of time buying supplies, organizing and planning for the booth. We had an awesome turnout and met lots of great people. I added a ton of people to my mailing list, and now my calendar is filling up quite quickly! Awesome awesome. We were SO tired after just Friday, which was pretty slow. Then Saturday, I felt like I had been talking non-stop and was desperately wishing for a mega-phone. Sunday was all a blur. Talk about a broken record, very busy and lots of talking!

Here are some pictures of our booth. We got lots of compliments. Alan and I both think there are some things we could improve on, but I think we did pretty good considering this was our first event.

Just a few notes...It was a 10 x 10 booth, and it was a bit dark in the venue. Because it was a 3-day event, we changed a couple of things. But you get the idea.

Oh and a HUGE thank you to our good friends Aaron and Anne Marie for coming to help out Saturday and Sunday. We couldn't have done it without you!

Seriously? How is that even possible. Well before I post pictures of the Women's Expo from last weekend, I need to do a quick catch-up. What have we been up to over the last month?

OH we went to BOSTON and saw a Bruins game. I have loads of pictures from that day. Check them out below. What else? St. Patrick's DAY! Green beer. WICKED. This was the first year I'd ever actually had green beer. Then we made corned beef sandwiched for dinner. YUMMY IN MY TUMMY. Sheesh what a month, EASTER too! Um...my mom visited, it was nice. We hadn't seen her in awhile. We almost lost Bailey Easter Sunday. He took off with Ollie from next door and they were on the 95 halfway to Augusta. Thankfully someone spotted the 2 PUREBRED dogs and pulled over. By that time they were so tired, they hopped right in his car. Bailey didn't even have tags on (his collar had broken the night before) So luckily enough, Ollie had a collar and the guy was able to get ahold of our neighbors and we recovered the dogs.

I got my first projects ready for the Design Team. The day I turned them in, I was SPEEDING along and got my first ticket on the 95. Grr. The 95 was evil to me this month. I'd never even been pulled over before.

Other than that, just lots of shopping and preparation for the Expo. We spent a whole weekend out and about getting PINK stuff for the booth. Check out some of the good finds we got. I found some of those photo holders like Terese has at Pier 1. I was stoked. And then I got that neat 3-tiered basket from Target that everyone was raving about on 2Peas. I got it for $3! The After-Easter sale at Target. I started screaming when the lady rang it up. I was super excited. Ok PICTURE TIME! My mom and I are HUGE Celtics fans, so we took lots of pictures in the gift shop and around the Garden.

We went down to Boston with a group of friends, Aaron and Anne-Marie and then some new couples. These are the girls...

Another Birthday Celebration...

Saturday, Feb 23rd, we went out with our friends Aaron and Anne Marie to celebrate my BIRTHDAY. Woo hoo. We had dinner at Red Robin. YUMMY burgers. And then we saw Jumper. Oohhh baby HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN is HOT HOT. Seriously, I think Alan should have handed me a towel to wipe up the drool. I'm lucky I even paid attention to the movie.

It was a lot of fun!

A very CHILLY evening though.

Oh and then Alan found this toy in the parking lot and he kicked it. I insisted that he go and retrieve it though! I needed it for the PHOTO OP! :)

4 Year Anniversary

Thursday was the 4-year anniversary of when me and Alan met at the Kings game. They played the Montreal Canadiens, and guess what? That's who the Kings are playing right now, in LA. March 6, 2004 was the last time the Habs were in Los Angeles. Pretty wild huh?

We celebrated at home. I made a yummy chicken salad. Grilled up some chicken in olive oil, with garlic, salt/pepper and added it to romaine lettuce with green onions and cucumbers (chopped REALLY small). Then I topped it with gorgonzola cheese and Girard's Champagne dressing. I could literally drink the stuff, so the salad was AWESOME. Alan really liked it too.

Alan brought me some GREEN flowers and a PINK plant. Hehe and two really cute cards. I made him one.

A penguin filled weekend...

WELL aside from all of the snow we got this weekend, we pretty much had a kickback weekend.
I cleaned and Alan did lots of shoveling and adjustments to the mailbox that keeps getting covered c/o the town's snowplow!

Still need to update my blog with pictures from last weekend, but check out this card I just made for our nephew. I think it turned out pretty cute. I am very sad though, I went to look for another one of the Memory Box penguin stamps for the inside and I can't find it! I swear that I had 2, a mini penguin and a bigger one. (Then of course all of my new ones) But I CANNOT FIND IT! I have a feeling I am either losing my mind or Georgie knocked it off my scrap table and the dog ate it. Grr!

Update!! I just made this card for my sister Jenna...it's an extra card for her very belated present that I'm mailing tomorrow. (And yes, I'm obsessed with the paper...both cards are from scraps I had on my table!)

Julie, a fellow Scrappintologist, sent me this AWESOME package for our Cupid Exchange. I sat there DROOLING for quite awhile. So glad I found the box out in the snow. STUPID MAILMAN!

Look at all of these goodies. Clear buttons, felt flowers and shapes, a chipboard Purse-album, felt boards from Queen & Co., bling, tags from MME, stickers from Imaginesce (that match my paper!!) and the adorable FROG card. Oh and can't forget the Sour Patch Kids and Gummy Colas!

I think Julie is a long-lost sister. Or just knows me really well. She picked stuff I would have bought myself. And the K is awesome. It's already on my shelf with the rest of my collection.

I turned 25 yesterday. YEP a whole quarter of a century. I'm getting OLD. The day started off with some beautiful flowers from Alan. Then he surprised me with a trip to Massachusetts/New Hampshire. It was a fun little road trip. We have both been CRAVING some GOOD and SPICY mexican food for awhile now. Pretty much since we left CA, so we found a Baja Fresh in MA. Then I scoped out some scrapbook stores (thank you all my 2Peas-girls!) Because the weather was kind of sketchy we didn't head all the way to Boston, but we still had a good time. FILLED UP on Baja Fresh. I even professed my love of the food to the owner of the store. He thought I was funny. Offered to cook me some more. Then I asked for some of the logo paper that they wrap the food in for my scrapbook. He was so proud! :) AND BOY OH BOY did I have fun in the stores. I about died in this store called Absolutely Everything in MA. I was in heaven. The coolest store I've ever been to. I told the owner, and she was really impressed. She had just gotten back from CHA in Anaheim, CA and I told her I was from CA. Then she picked my brain about stores in CA, I told her hers was still better! She gave me 40% off for my birthday on one of the Memory Box penguins I bought. I got some owls too. I got lots of cute stamps. WOO HOO. Then we stopped at a store in NH too. It was much smaller but they had some cute paper that I NEEDED. Then on the way home we stopped at Coldstone's for my FREE birthday ice cream.

I need to post a LOT more than just this. But here's a tidbit of the last two weeks! BLAH
Today has just been a BLAH day. Went to the bank and LSS (they were having a sale-scored on paper and a couple of other things!) Tomorrow is my birthday and we have no idea what we're doing tonight. Just going to hang out I think. I have lots of updating to do. These last 2 weeks have been crazy. Getting used to WORKING again! Then we have had some wild weather. The ice storm was the worst on Wednesday...we even lost power. But I was pretty creative once it came back on.
Check out what I made Alan for Valentine's Day. I had this heart-shaped box and then I made 14 cards that measured 2.5 by 2.5. Each one had a different reason inside. Alan loved it! He even took it to work to show it off.

WOOT! What a nice start to a SLEEPY Saturday. I just couldn't get out of bed...err the 2nd time. I was up at 6:30 with Alan, ate breakfast, and then went to read A Thousand Splendid Suns. Read a few chapters and boom sleepy time!

I best get back to my Valentine's Day cards. I have 10 done.

Then I can get everything postal tomorrow and enjoy the weekend!

...in the last couple of days. We went to a fire safety talk Tuesday night with AnneMarie and Aaron. We dragged them and they actually showed up. HEHE. Too bad it scared the crap out of me. I liked the meal though AND it was FREE! DaVinci's. In downtown Lewiston. I think we may need to go there for my birthday dinner. I am still really upset that they didn't serve bread. What kind of Italian place doesn't serve bread with either the salad or pasta. I MEAN COME ON NOW!

Other than that, we went to the prison yesterday to check out alternate routes. Came home some crazy way care of the dumbass GPS. (We have choice words for her at the moment, and yes I referred to the GPS as a her! We use a female British voice.) She took us home on some wacky dirt road that was completely covered in ice. It got more and more narrow and slippery as we went along. Luckily some poor soul actually lived on that road and we were able to turn around in their driveway. I refused to go any further. LOVE ME MY SNOW TIRES THOUGH. Whew!

Well I have been on this stinking computer ALL DAY. Tried to figure out slide.com, no luck. I posted tons of pictures and only 3 came up on the slideshow. Tried the photo mosaic thing, no luck. It was huge and I couldn't save it and resize it. Maybe my connection is too slow and it screws up the files, I dunno. If anyone wants to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

That's the scoop.
I need to unplug this computer.
Otherwise I'll never get my Valentine's done.

Ah what an interesting weekend...

It all started off with the good news on Friday about my job...
Then we cleaned house to have AnneMarie and Aaron over. SO NICE COMING HOME TO A WICKED CLEAN HOUSE. I mean clean...floor to ceiling, the entire house. Alan and I worked like a team man. Alan even made dessert for our special guests. Then we went to Applebees. Pigged out and drank. OH YES. I bugged Aaron acting like the PAPARAZZI. Kept catching poor AnneMarie off-guard! I now officially love Red Apple Sangria drinks. TASTY.

Two of them hit me pretty hard. I called Jenna (my sister) on the way home and I talked it off. HEHE I was outta control at the start of the conversation and then poof, bye bye alcohol effects. Came back to our place and watched the NHL All-Star festivities. The Superskills competition. They changed a lot of the rules and setup this year. We pretty much bad mouthed it the entire time. Well that and AnneMarie and I drooled over a lot of the players. I now have a new hockey love. OH YES, another goalie. Rick DiPietro. HOT HOT HOT.

What else? That was only Saturday. Sunday we woke up for our day of errands. Alan was a sweetheart and made me pancakes. Then we got dressed to go to the store, Wal-mart and Home Depot. (OH HOW I HATE HOME DEPOT) Well Alan went to back the car out and I ran around to lock the dog downstairs and grab my purse and everything. Walked out to the car...er attempted to anyway and totally slipped on the ice. We still can't figure out what hit the car. Alan thinks it's my head...I have no clue because my knee hurt so bad I didn't feel anything else. I slammed my knee on the ice and totally busted it. (Today I am convinced I broke my knee-cap, ok so maybe I'm being a tad bit dramatic!) The funny part is I had my hands full, my purse, gloves for Alan, and 4 Cricut cartridges. I fell and didn't drop anything. I just laid on the ground moaning. Alan knew something bad happened, but the car was started so it locked. He panicked and frantically tried to get out of the car, only making things worse. He finally got out and then he almost slipped trying to get me up. He was a mess...wanted me to go inside, make sure I was ok, I just said "NAH, help me stand up and get into the car. I'll live. BUT MAKE SURE THE CRICUT CARTRIDGES ARE OK!" That was my biggest concern. I had just gotten the 2 cartridges from the Cricut campaign and they sent me duplicates, so I wanted to exchange one of them or two. Plus I had a few to return. I ended up getting the Mickey font one, not because it's Disney, but because the font is really cute. After Wal-Mart and JoAnn's we went to stinking Home Depot to get a ladder. We are convinced we have a ghost in the house. (Well Alan thinks it sounds like someone throwing oranges at the house.) And yes I just said oranges being thrown at the house...Alan threw some rotten ones into the forest. Thinks the forest is now throwing them back. ANYWAY, back to my story. A few times a day/night we hear this loud CRACK/boom noise in the walls. It always sounds like it's coming from a different part of the house. Alan wanted to get a ladder to get into the attic and then on the roof to check out the pipes. He seems to think something is up with them. WELL he was right! After getting the ladder home, he got into the attic. Rattled one of the pipes and I stayed downstairs to compare the noise. Sounded the same, so he wrapped the pipe, hoping to stop all future "mystery noises". Then came the attempt on the roof. Little did Alan know, the roof was covered in ice under the little bit of snow we got yesterday. So he took his first step and almost fell off. Thanks to my spill on the ice, we had just gotten some ice hooks for our shoes at Wal-Mart. And lucky for me, I wasn't standing there watching or I would have flipped out. Turns out there is some exhaust pipe on the roof that has ice and snow in it, so Alan thinks that when the temperature changes and the pressure builds up that the pipe rattles. STILL IS SCARY THOUGH. (You know, we think we live in the FOREST in the middle of nowhere and scary orange monsters are trying to kill us!) So after that we just hung out and watched the NHL All-Star game and played Monopoly Here & Now on the computer. Then Alan found some quiz about the history of Hershey Kisses and we entertained ourselves taking quizzes for a few hours. REAL BLOODY EXCITING.

Now today I get to look at the bump growing out of my kneecap.
Got some dishes to do...the rest of the day sounds like a SCRAPPIN' day. Oh and I best start on my Valentine's. Good thing I cleaned my scrap area.

Soooo cold. It's starting to snow. Bailey is out running in the woods with Ollie (the neighbor's dog). He could care less that his nose is about to fall off from the cold. This is the picture I snapped before his little excursion. Georgie just sits on the top of the couch thinking Bailey is nuts.

WELL the Patriots are going to the Superbowl. I finished my submission for the Design Team (pictures below). Um what else? Nothing really. Just been COLD COLD COLD. I've actually been creating. Had tacos for dinner last night, in case you really care. Does anyone want to send me some Baja Fresh? PF Changs? I'd love you forever. Wow that was completely random. Can you tell I'm hungry?

We were going to see a movie, and then discovered SWEENEY TODD is actually playing more widespread...too late though so we'll catch it next week. Now we're home just hanging out. Kings game starts in a few hours.

But it might not be that way for much longer! I had a good interview today with the state. WOO HOO. Cross your fingers, long drive, but it wasn't as bad as I expected.
We're due for another storm tonight...snow, then sleet and rain. Sounds like a perfect day for scrappin and BACKING UP PICTURES. Speaking of which...I don't do that often enough. I just bought some dvd's the other day and I plan on transferring over my external harddrive to the dvds. Then I'll have a 3rd backup system.

Well...still keeping up on the "Studio 365" challenge. I need to figure out how to post the pictures.

I got the Pet stack today, DCWV, from JoAnn's. SO CUTE. I just loved the papers.
Alan lit a nice fire in the fireplace, very pretty, but the smoke made me sick.

Sad there isn't American Idol tonight, but wait UGLY BETTY is on. YIPPEE. I love that show.

My head hurts. I need aspirin.

It's officially Alan's job FOR LIFE. 16 inches of snow and I thought I'd help the guy out. PFFT! I ended up black and blue. I'm not really sure how either. Alan laughed when I showed him the bruises, I mean he felt bad, but he really has NO IDEA how I managed to kill my legs.

Still no news on the job front.

Just was on 2Peas...as far as the challenge. I stay up on the latest trends, but I don't always give in. I tend to set my own trends and just do what I like.

Well I best get something accomplished today. At least I was dressed and showed before 12 noon. WOOPIE.

I want to add those cute photo collages to my blog, but I can't figure out how to do it. I tried Flickr yesterday and the collage filled the screen. How do you resize it?
I would appreciate any help ya'll have to offer.

I crack myself up. I actually logged in the other day and got sidetracked and did something else instead. Oh well.

Here I go with my 2Peas challenge...ideal DREAM JOB? Stay at home scrapbooker. But you know, getting paid, having never ending supply of stuff...all the latest and greatest. Best camera. I could go on. THAT WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE. Oh yes. A girl can dream right?

So the latest scoop? Still on the job hunt. Hopefully I'll get some good news today. Other than that I've been busy with Scrappintology. Our group is bouncing off the walls with activity. WOOHOO.

Awe my poor Georgie is in the process of trying to cough up his first hairball. Poor little guy looks miserable. Bailey runs to his rescue every time he makes a funny noise. Oh and the SNOW. Another Nor'Easter. YIPPEE. At least 10 inches today. Then more on Friday.

Still keeping up with the Studio 365 challenge. REALLY. I have a photo for every day this month. OH YES. And you thought I couldn't do it.

2 Days in a ROW baby!

I'm on a roll.
Nothing all that exciting happened today. We're on our "Thai" kick and got more ingredients for Chicken Satay today. We also stopped at one of Alan's coworkers house/farm. Pretty neat. Having a FARM in your backyard. Yeah yeah I know, "Kara, you're not in California anymore."
Supposedly we're due to get more snow tomorrow. But it's Sunday, so I can live with that.
The chicken is marinating in preparation for tomorrow night's dinner. I'll just be hanging out and Peain', while Alan watches football. Hopefully I can take some cool pictures of the snow tomorrow. Or maybe just Georgie and his "boyfriend" (his newly discovered Husky stuffed animal that he's taken a great liking to haha!) Why I'm calling him a boyfriend I don't know. I crack myself up. Blogs are kind of funny. Lots of people have them, perfect strangers read them, and you talk about anything and everything on them. Oh and people tend to talk to themselves I've noticed. Or just blab on. I know I do, I'm doing it right now.

I do think it's kind of neat to look back and see what you were up to. Right now we have the debate on. Alan is talking to the TV a lot...err YELLING at it.

Well in reference to the 2Peas challenge, my inspiration is life. Sometimes it's other Peas. Sometimes it's a picture in a magazine, or just me!

...4 days in. I'm not THAT late. HAHA!

Ok so this is official, I hope you're sitting down.
I've decided that ALL of my recent posts have been something like "I'm back" & "REALLY I'll post" or "I'm blogging again."
Call it a New Year's Resolution, or just me getting off my butt, but my goal is to actually use this thing. I mean who wants to read a blog with no recent posts? NOT ME.

So on that note...let me tell you what's going on.
I'm currently unemployed. OH JOY. Freezing my butt off, it's 10 degrees right now.
I'm actually scrappin though. REALLY

Check this out...made it last night. Those are little pieces of almost every single Christmas card we got this year. Some were too thick to punch through, but I think it's a neat way to remember all of the cards.

And for Christmas, guess what I got? A new kitten! Alan hunted all over the state for one. We had to drive 250 miles NORTH to pick him up.

Other than that, no hot scoops. Just trying not to turn into an ice cube. First winter here in Maine and boy are we being introduced nicely. (HA!) I cannot believe all of this snow. Just checked the weather looks like we have more coming Thursday. OH JOY! We had to dig out the mailbox the other day look. I can't believe that we actually live in this place now. Pretty crazy. Well I don't want to shock anyone by posting too much. So this is all for now. I'm off to check 2Peas.

I thought I had updated my blog since we moved to Maine, but apparently not. Can you believe that we've been here almost 8 months! Got our first SNOW yesterday. Only a couple of inches, but it was SNOW! We have a puppy now, who is 7 months old, named Bailey. He's a yellow Lab. We're working and just trying to get settled in Maine.

I am really focusing on Close To My Heart now. That and getting ready for WINTER!

Wow...over 4 months since I updated.

WELL I've since had surgery, yesterday to be exact. Sinus surgery and I am trying to recover. It's loads of fun. I cannot wait until the packing material comes out on Monday. I am obsessed with the movie Borat, and I'm still a scrapbookin fool.

Right now I am trying to plan Christmas Cards for a workshop I am doing.

Planning a X-Mas list, and just trying to BREATHE.

I've been working on Croppy's book! I have 6 pages done now. I need to scan the one so you can read the journaling.
I rather like how this page turned out.
The two I just finished are adorable I think. I just put them in the album though so I don't know how the pictures will come out.

I'm really excited to get Croppy on his journey. For those of you who don't know who or what Croppy is, he is a beanie baby that is now the mascot for Scrappintology!
He is going to travel the country and have his picture taken all over the US. My fellow Scrappintologists are going to complete pages in his album and send him along on his journey.

I still have quite a bit of photos to scrap. I hope to get him postal soon!

Me, Croppy and the Dam! Sooo cute.

These were my cow friends...met them on our road trip through manure-filled CALIFORNIA!

This is Alan, me and Croppy the frog in Friant, CA. We were next to Millerton Dam. I set the camera on a ledge and I guess it was facing into the sun. This would have been a cute picture. I still like it though.

TGIF & 2Peas Blog Challenge

Whew! What a week. 2 twelve-hour days in a row, and to top it all off I go and injure myself at work. I was doing the job of three people, and raced to get some filing done. I was working in these HUGE filing cabinets that each hold 200 files per drawer. Each one is full of papers, so I have to push them aside to get in the correct one to file, well I guess the strain was too much. SO I'm in pain. I don't know if the hernia is POPPED out or what, but the incision area feels really weird and hard to the touch. SO I'm going to the doctor Tuesday. My sergeant wanted to fill out an injury report and I told him to wait. I'm really hoping I didn't do something bad.

OH WELL, at least it's Friday. I'm going to work some OT tomorrow, but it's just boring data entry. I won't have to do anything but sit there, although sitting is what hurts most. MAYBE I SHOULD GET OFF THE COMPUTER!

Going to a stamp convention Sunday. I have lots of scrappin to do, and hopefully we can catch Pirates of the Caribbean! Hmmm Johnny Depp here I come.

Oh and for the 2Peas Challenge...I wouldn't call it my ALL-TIME favorite SUMMER movie, but it's definitely my favorite so far THIS summer: CLICK with Adam Sandler. IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY SEEN IT, GO NOW, RIGHT NOW! Even before Pirates!!! I really really enjoyed this movie.

BUT NOW, I'm all healed. Bandages are off, stitches have disolved and I'm pretty much pain free.

Still no heavy lifting though.
I made the mistake of doing way too much today and now I'm paying the price. PAIN.
Oh well that's what the good drugs are for.

I just cleaned my scrap area, so now I can actually sit down and work. I MIGHT EVEN FINISH CHRISELDA'S CJ! What a concept. Then I have to get started on my frog's book. Then then then...50 million things to do. I still need to make thank you cards for my surgeon and the hospital staff.

And my Cam Ward won MVP! Too bad he's not saving himself for me. During his press conference he announced his wedding date as July 22. How rude. HA I crack myself up.

I am so excited for NORTH CAROLINA, the Hurricanes and TERESE! HAHAHA And Terese, I meant that I'm excited to torture you, with more talk of the Canes! :)

Nothing else exciting going on. Worked 12 hours today. Was in major pain by the time I left. I had to unbutton my jeans just to drive. Fun stuff. Had some yummy lasanga leftovers and peas for dinner. YES peas!

Now I'm going to eat ice cream. Just in case you care...it's CHOCOLATE CHIP.

Days like this make me wish I was closer to my dad. At least I had a decent conversation with him. The last few times I've talked to him have been nice. :)

Well this was a busy weekend. Next weekend we are going out of town and celebrating Alan's birthday. I can't wait!

Woo hoo! My fave show is back on! So glad Alan got me hooked on this last year. I love Chef Ramsey. He is bloody amazing. The things he says blow me away man. I can't believe he goes off like that. Looks like a crap bunch of contestants though. I'd send the whole lot home. Especially the ones sweating in the food. GROSS!

In case you watch the show and still haven't checked your TIVO for the evening, I won't ruin anything for you, but GO WATCH! Now. It was a 2-hour special. COME ON ALREADY!

On another TV note, did ya'll catch Windfall? My mom called me just as it was starting so I turned it on. Didn't get my attention till the end, but I rather like it. I think I'll give it another shot on Thursday. Man this being laid up in bed is really bad, I'm getting addicted to television.

Oh and speaking of TV, the new season of Simple Life is keeping me entertained as well. I about died on the first episode when they pulled up to West Hills Hospital! That's where I was Wednesday, RIGHT THERE, having surgery. Too funny. Small world. And Chapter 8, the club they go to in the 2nd episode, that place is off the hook. My deputies arrest people there all the time. Oh and it's not in Hollywood, it's in the city of Agoura, CA.

Ok I'm off to bed, I need my beauty sleep considering that Alan is back in town tomorrow! ;)

GUESS WHO IS HAVING SURGERY TOMORROW?

I have a epigastric hernia that needs repairing!
FUN FUN FUN!
I moved a lot of crap this weekend, lifted boxes and furniture I never should have and totally irritated my hernia. I've had it since I was like 5 years old. It's bugged me on and off for years, but I've always just put up with it. Well the last couple of days I've really been whining about it, so Alan said THAT'S IT, you're going to the emergency room! I said NO WAY, he said FINE you're taking tomorrow off and going to the doctor.
So I find an internist who can see me today, and schedule an appointment. In the meantime, I also get a referral for a surgeon who specializes in hernia repair. I scheduled an appointment with him for tomorrow.

I sat around all day waiting for my appointment, spent 5 minutes with the guy while he poked and prodded me. I about died...seriously. I was almost in tears it hurt so bad. Ok, so in case you don't know, I'm pretty dramatic. It's hard to outdo my drama-queen-ness. WELL, this doctor FLIPPED OUT. He said OMG you have to go to the hospital RIGHT AWAY! You need to see a surgeon. I'm scheduling you. I said well I have an appointment for a consultation tomorrow isn't that good enough.
Doctor says NO, you must go NOW. RIGHT NOW. TONIGHT! GO!
I start to freak out at this point...
Doctor gets on the phone with the surgeon to make sure I'll be seen right away! I am then hardly breathing...go downstairs to my mom's office (she works in the same medical building) and I am going nuts crying and flipping out. The office manager is so BLAH, could care less, I call my mom and am hysterical. Then my mom is flipping...

WELL to make a long story short, the surgeon saw me and says I'll live...until TOMORROW. Soooo that's what I'll be doing tomorrow @ 10:30!
HAVING FREAKING HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY.

I cannot believe it.
And Alan is leaving town too...for a week. And his birthday is Sunday. This is just nuts. Poor thing DOES NOT want to even go on this business trip in the first place, and now he really doesn't. He's so sweet. I love him dearly. I just feel bad for the guy!

AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT TODAY IS!?
Good thing I'm not having surgery tonight.

BBQ sauce. YUM! YA RIGHT. It's starting to make me sick. Pretty good dinner though. At least Alan was trying for one. He ordered a whole bunch of italian food...and ribs? How is that Italian? Oh and some CARROT CAKE TOO.
YUM Anyway...thanks to Alan I came home to a lovely dinner. Oh and I had me some pepperoni pizza. Worked freakin 12 hours today. SO MUCH FUN.

Then my sister came over with her pot for me. I mean POTS. HAHA She is in a ceramics class and she made me a bunch of cool stuff. Quite the talented kid. I'll have to post pictures.

Here's the Devils yesterday after they managed a win...

I thought maybe they had a chance today... but they let me down.

I am now cheering for this guy...Cam Ward. Total hottie of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Waiting for tomorrow when the picture of Cam meeting his childhood idol, Martin Brodeur is posted. That was the cutest thing I'd ever seen.

Well Happy Mother's Day everyone! I hope you all had a fab day. Even though I haven't given birth to anyone, Alan helped make it a nice day for me too. Made me breakfast, and then we went and I got a mani/pedi. Saw Keeping Up With the Steins, which was actually really cute. And then we went to Stonefire Grill for a YUMMY lunch. YOU SHOULD SEE THE PIECE OF CARROT CAKE I GOT! I could eat on it for a week. That will be breakfast tomorrow.

We just hung out the rest of the day and watched hockey. Alan taught me to play some different versions of poker. Started playing with real money and I wooped his ass. Won all $16 of his dollars. (Played in quarters and dimes, don't get excited!)

Ok well tomorrow I am home ALL DAY, watching some-young-guy install a new shower/bathtub. Hopefully I'll get a lot done.

I think he's great, and I am sad to see him go. Now who will I drool over on Tuesday and Wednesday night?!?

I'm a DEFENSIVE DRIVER...

Really I am! Ask the deputies who just trained me! I just got back from a Defensive Driver Training course at the Sheriff's Academy. It was the most wicked training I've ever attended. If only they would have given me that class when I was 15... today wouldn't be the first time I could truthfully say I PARALLEL PARKED A CAR PERFECTLY! (And a BLACK AND WHITE, REAL-LIFE Police car at that!) HAHA And I mean textbook style...I could have trained ya'll it was such a flawless performance! We did all kinds of crazy maneuvers in obstacle courses too. It was awesome. I had a blast. The deputies were pretty funny too. Only bad thing was that I had to wake up at 3:45 AM to get there this morning. At least my day was finished early. Got 10.5 hours in, and I'm home at 4:30, so I'm not complaining!

Ok time for a nap...I'll prolly dream about parallel parking!

This is how I feel today...
Well minus the Bud Light anyway. I'll be replacing that with a Smirnoff Ice! It's so bloody hot and it's not even May 1st yet! I can't believe it. This summer is going to be the death of me.

I wish I could live in a hockey rink!

Whew! Well I've actually been rather productive today. I did 2 loads of laundry, cleaned the counter/table off, sorted all of my mail and junk for the week, responded to all of my emails, put away all of my clothes, and I watched 2 hockey games. PLAYOFF HOCKEY is the best! GO DEVILS GO! Wait, Go Devils and GO Avs! The Colorado Avs just knocked out Dallas. Totally wicked!

Here are some great pictures from this weekend's action (thanks NHL.com!) The one with Edmonton's Winchester and the octopus is classic. Oh and normally I wouldn't have anything to do with the DUCKS, but I do love Sean O'Donnell and this is a cool picture, anything to do with PAIN and Iginla is good in my book. Then the last picture is my Jamie Langenbrunner congratulating Patrick Elias after he scored his second goal of the game. Devils won 4-2 and ended up SWEEPING the Rangers! GO DEVILS!

On another note, wow what a day! Called in sick yesterday, and woke up feeling nasty again this morning. (Sinus and allergy issues!) Call my Sergeant and he says NOooo you HAVE TO come in today. Yesterday was Administrative Professionals Day and you missed it, you HAVE TO come in sometime today. I said ok fine and got in the shower. Went into work with a massive headache and on my desk is a beautiful boquet of roses and a GIANT box. AWE! I was so touched. Big note that said Thank You too. I tear into the box and it's that Colorbok Kit that was on QVC a few weeks back. The scrapbooking special that Lisa Bearnson hosted. How cute is that? My Sergeant actually watched the show and ordered it for me. I couldn't have been more surprised. Heck of a lot better than chocolate ya know? I think he's a great man! Too cute that he got me scrapbookin' stuff!

Ok well I am off to watch more PLAYOFF hockey!

WHEW! Ya'll best be sending me some napkins to wipe the drool. I have never enjoyed watching American Idol more than I did tonight. Chris Daughtry was HOT. I don't know if it's the bald head, his hot voice, the facial hair, or all three combined, but MAN OH MAN do I love him. He is my IDOL. Paula cried tonight, well Kara's heart melted. Go Chris Go!

Oh and I don't know whose blog I was reading, but someone had an American Idol drinking game posted. I only skimmed through it, but I noticed the deal for Ryan clasping his hands together. He sure does that a lot. I would love to find that again.

Close To My Heart's newest consultant! I'm official now, just received my consultant kit today. I am so excited to get started. Really not trying to sound like a salesman here, but I do love their product. They have the cutest stamps and the MyAcrylix idea is brilliant. I love that the stamps are clear and you can see EXACTLY where you are stamping!

Now I'm off to read my manual and get my website up! Soon I'll have a 24-hour store!

SHARPIE Charlie!!

OMG, if only ya'll could have been here to experience this in person. I'm in my back room and in comes Alan and Jenna LAUGHING hysterically, carrying Sharpies in their hands. I know they had to have tortured Charlie yet again...(he has a thing about Sharpies, can't stand the smell, so Alan always tries to get the markers close to his nose, DRIVES ME UP THE WALL!) so I said WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY POOR DOG NOW!? Well I look at him and he has BLACK SHARPIE BETWEEN HIS EYES! I flipped out. THEN Alan says WAIT let me finish drawing his HARRY POTTER glasses. And I said NO! It turned into this hysterical event. I went after Alan to SHARPIE him, and he gets me right back because he's a lot stronger. Of course I'm wearing a WHITE sweater, so I said FINE, surrended and fell in my chair practically peeing myself. Quite the comedy...Here's Charlie: (Oh and don't worry, it was easily removed and Charlie gave Alan a great big kiss!)

"Jew Dogs!" **Please know that this is strictly a joke and is not meant to offend anyone!** I just recently started eating meat again...first thing I ate was a Hebrew National hot dog. I quickly took to calling these wonderful things "Jew dogs." Don't ask, the name has just stuck! Even marked it on my calendar this way. I'm such a brat. I reckon this is another reason to visit Costco, as they serve these. Yum!
